On August 12th we celebrated Cante Alentejano, a genre of Portuguese traditional polyphonic singing performed by amateur choral groups in southern Portugal. The recognition of Cante Alentejano as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO happened in late 2014. At Melides Art we invited 12 coral groups (over 200 singers) and their special guests Magano to play and share the day with us.
